Food Restrictions

In my family if you see food in the cupboard or on the table it means that you can eat it. Whoever gets to the good stuff first, gets the good stuff, and that tends to be me. I guess that my family started to get sick of it. My brother and sister would always complain about how a box of cereal was gone each day and how a new box of oreos would be gone within an hour. Now my parents are starting to label some food items not for Garth. It makes me angry! I mean I'm a growing boy so I need to be eating a lot, at least a lot of junk food. What the? It just got really bright outside and all day it has been rainy and cold so far. General Conference starts in five minutes maybe that's why.

Sleep or General Conference?

Every year when general conference comes around I get excited in someways but disappointed in others. I enjoy the fact that I don't have to worry about getting dressed for church, other than priesthood meeting, but I don't like that they are spaced out perfectly so that you can't hang out with your friends at all. Usually during general conference I bring all my bedding and lay down on my couch, falling asleep halfway through. I know that it is wrong but general conference just makes me so tired. This year I was assigned by my seminary teacher to take notes on conference so I kind of had to stay awake. Well I did, mostly. For the last half an hour of the first session of conference my brain went dead and I can't even remember what happened. I am glad though that I got that extra push from seminary to stay awake because I think that this year I have learned the most I have ever learned from conference. The only thing that I am depressed about is that I am going to the conference center for the second sunday session. That totally defeats the point of staying in my pajamas the whole day. I guess I still could but I don't think they would let someone into the conference center if they were dressed up in pokemon (not really) covered clothing. Also I don't want to worry about the hassle of getting out of the parking lot and then out of Salt Lake City. I just think in the long run it's better to just stay home as a family. At least that is what I am trying to convince my mom. Who knows maybe we will cancel at the last second. If we do I'll be sure to blog about it.

Procrastination

Everyday I go to bed late saying that I am going to get my homework done early the next day. Then the next day afterward I am tired throughout school and don't pay very good attention to what is being taught in each of my classes. Then I go home, eat a quick meal, and pull out the easiest of my homework. I begin to work, start to yawn, then go down to my bed and take a two hour nap. I wake up again and tell myself I better get to work if I don't want to go to bed late. I start my homework again going at an incredibly slow pace since I just woke up, and before I know it its 9:30 or later. I start working like crazy and eventually finish around 10:30 or 11:00. Then I take a shower and get ready for bed. I usually hit the sack around midnight or later.
The main reason why I wrote about this crap is because it was the first topic that entered my mind and if I want to go to bed early tonight I better finish all of my homework fast. Take mercy on my bad blogging.

Don't Cry Over Spilled Juice

Yesterday I was planning on going over to my friend's house to watch the BYU game around 4ish. I had a soccer game earlier that day that was at 2:30. The soccer game started way late and ended around 4:45 so I was already running late. I drove home from my game and got cleaned up to go over to Jade's house. Then my father asked me to help him outside by picking plums from our plum tree. I quickly got a box and started picking not wanting to be any later to Jade's house than I had to. I picked a large box and then helped a bit with mowing my overgrown lawn. I was about to leave when my dad asked me if I had eaten dinner yet. I ran inside and began to create my meal. I put a hamburger in the microwave for 30 seconds and while it was warming up I was going to try to finish the rest of the ingredients. As I was shoving the ketchup back into the fridge, a plate full of honeydew slid off the top of some mayonaise. I caught all but one piece of honeydew, but as they fell the began a chain reaction. The honeydew knock over a bowl of raspberries which then knock over an almost empty pitcher of juice. In just seconds the floor was a mess. I ran downstairs, grabbed a bunch of towels(probably more than needed), and wiped up the floor and the fridge. I finished eating and then looked at the time. It was a little bit passed 7:30. I tried to get my dad to take me, and after 15 minutes of last minute work we were about to leave. As I was about to go out the door my mom said she wanted to spend time as a family. In the end I stayed and still had a fun time watching a movie.

Hope is Lost...

Yesterday, my friends and I decided to watch the BYU game. This week's game was supposedly a big game due to the fact that we were playing Florida State. They had previously been a ranked team but had lost the week before to an unranked team, thus dropping them out of the rankings. Florida would be playing a top-ten team on BYU's home field that they had not lost on since 2005. The game began with the opening kick-off to Florida. This was the begining of a very bad game.
Florida's first drive took them all the way to a touchdown. We got the kickoff next and were stopped, forcing us to punt. They then score again. We recieved another kickoff. On this drive we were able to pull together some amazing receptions, allowing us a touchdown. That's when my friends dad came into his house.
What I should have mentioned before is that we were watching the game prerecorded. In actuallity the game was in the second half before we started watching it. My friend's dad had been listening to the game in his car, so when he entered the house he sent a wave of depression over all of us. I can't remember the first words he said as he entered the house, but it was something along the lines of "They're really killing us, aren't they?" That was when I lost hope. BYU had a few good plays after that, but i knew it was all in vain. The final score was 54-28 for Florida State.

Blowouts

Today my soccer team, the earthquake, had another game. We were playing the same team we played the week before, only this time we were missing a few of our players due to homecoming. We started the game off fast with a shot by Lucas. Then he continued to score along with Brady and another of our players, and by halftime, we were up by five. We then entered into the 2nd half of the game. If you had seen the way were playing during the second half, you probably wouldn't think we were high school age. Most of our players were hogging the ball and trying to score on a one-man effort. Although we still managed to score a few goals that half, I still don't feel great about the win. I even admit that I hogged the ball a bit. I also felt rushed for a lot of the game. Every time I would get the ball, seven people would start yelling for a pass, even when I wasn't under pressure. I wish people would lay off so we could slow down the game a little bit. Even though we won by a lot, I still enjoyed the game. It's always fun to mess around a little bit and just play a fun game of soccer.

Talkin Trash

Yesterday my soccer team had another game. We were playing another team that consisted mainly of people from our school. Fifty-percent of their team was made up of juniors while the other half was sophomores. Apart from 3 other players, our team, the Earthquake, is all juniors.
During the spring soccer season, we had a team with all the juniors(we were actually sophomores then) and a team with all the sophomores(then freshmen). Whenever we had a scrimmage against them, it was always an easy win. As you can imagine, it wouldn't be any different when we played them yesterday.
Some of the members on the Assault had been talking crap about how they were way good and were going to beat us, mainly a particular junior. We didn't expect much when the game started, but they were still a fairly good team. We played through the game with a little bit of opposition and ended with a score of 5-0. That was actually the lowest scoring game we had. It's always fun playing with your friends on a soccer team, but it is a lot more fun to play against them.
